Journal "Problems of Cryobiology" publishes original papers dealing with the problems of low temperature biology and medicine, as well as the related scientific fields.

The Journal founders are as follows:
• The National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine;
• Section of Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Experimental and Clinical Physiology of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine;
• Institute for Problems of Cryobiology and Cryomedicine of National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine.

The journal is a part of the list of scientific issues, approved by the Supreme Attestation Commission where the results of theses can be published. Since 1985 the journal was published under the title of "Cryobiology", since 1991 it was retitled as "Problems of Cryobiology".

The journal is bilingual with side-by-side translation. The first side is in Russian or Ukrainian and the second one is in English.

The journal includes 4 issues a year.
